Choir Trip to Munich June 2015

The Garleton Singers organised a very successful German tour in June, following the visit of the Nymphenburg Kantatenchor, Munich to Scotland in 2014. The 2015 tour party of 30 Garleton Singers spent five very enjoyable days in Munich, hosted by the Nymphenburg Kantatenchor and friendships begun in the previous year were enhanced.  A visit to the Nymphenburg Palace, one of King Ludwig’s Baroque extravaganzas set in a large park in the west of Munich gave the choir an opportunity to sing a number of pieces a cappella from the Palace balcony.

Following this the host choir entertained the tour party to a demonstration class of yodelling and Bavarian folk dancing.  After a rehearsal with their hosts, the Garleton Singers performed a concert in front of an enthusiastic audience in the picturesque Stephanuskirche.

In between performances, the choir we able to indulge themselves in a variety of tourist must do’s in the city varying from watching the Corpus Christi procession, to a cycle tour of central Munich.  Click here to read more. Munich Tour 2015
